Luang Say Cruise has three boats travelling along the Mekong river from Houei Say to Luang Prabang, or, from Luang Prabang to Houei Say. Both cruises stop over for one night in our Luang Say Lodge in Pakbeng.

Our boats are 34 metres long with a 420 HP engine and a steel hull for strength and safety. The boats have a capacity for 40 people in comfortable seats and benches. Each seat has an open air vista. We have coffee tables with magazines and booklets to read during your cruise.

Dwn Stream

Day 1: Houei Say - Pakbeng  ( L, D )

LuangSay boat leaves HoueiSay pier at 09:00 hrs for a cruise down the Mekong to Pakbeng. En route one stop is made to observe rural life along the Mekong and discover minorities, a buffet lunch on board. Arrive Pakbeng before sunset and check-in at LuangSay Lodge. Dinner on the terrace, overlooking the Mekong River.

Day 2: Pakbeng - Park Ou - Luang Prabang ( B, L )

Full breakfast at lodge. (Optional: walk to Pakbeng market, where people from the surrounding village of minorities exchange their goods). At 08:30 board the boat for the second leg of the cruise. A short stop to discover a Hmong village before having buffet lunch on board. Continue to Pak-Ou village at the mouth of the Nam Ou River, visit Tam Ting “Caves of a thousand Buddha’s”. On the way to Luang Prabang a brief stop is made to observe the traditional process of obtaining local rice alcohol. Arrive at Luang Prabang before sunset.
 

Up Stream :   

Day 1:   Luang Prabang  - Pak Ou - Pakbang ( L, D )

Your boat leaves Luang Prabang pier at 07:30 hrs for a cruise up the Mekong to Pakbeng. On the way to Pak-Ou Village, at the mouth of the Nam Ou River, a brief stop is made to observe the traditional process of obtaining local rice alcohol, visit Tam Ting “Caves of a thousand Buddha’s”. Have a buffet lunch on board and continue route to Pak Beng. Arrive at Pak Beng before sunset and check in at LuangSay Lodge. Dinner on the terrace, overlooking the Mekong River.

Day 2:  Pakbeng -  HoueiSay   (B, L)

Full breakfast at lodge. (Optional: walk to Pak Beng market, where people from the surrounding villages of minorities exchange their goods). At 08:00hrs board the boat for the second leg of the cruise. En route one stop is made to observe rural life along the Mekhong and discover minorities, having a buffet lunch on board and continue to HoueiSay where you will arrive before 17:00 hrs (you may proceed to Chiang Rai in the same day.)

• 2 days cruise with stops and visits en route

• 1 night accommodation at LuangSay Lodge

• Meal plan as mentioned ( B = Breakfast, L = Luch, D = Dinner )

• Entrance fee at Tam Ting and police fees along the trip

• 1 FOC half twin for 15 paying persons

• Transfer from Lao immigration to pier in HoueiSay.

• Assistance of English-speaking cruise escort during the cruise (no guide on board)
